(*cough*-grandma-*cough*)

D went to Vega with a bunch of the
loveliest people to see
a documentary about Ricardo Villalobos

- and I comfort myself for not
having gone with this clip.

.. and MHM One warms up!

"Whatever you have is enough.
Whatever you need you were given.
Everything is at your disposal.
Can you see that?
You already have everything you need to create a life that is right for you.
Most of all you have the perfect amount of energy to be who you are.
How you go about it is your business, no-one else's.

Who told you that you don’t have enough? That you don’t look right? That until you get to that certain point you have not yet arrived? That you need to accumulate to succeed? That your house should be a stepping stone, a rung on a ladder, not a habitat? Did you ever believe this?
Do you remember your Grandparents? Do you remember that generations worked and evolved before us, wishing the best for us, making our happiness and well being their life’s work?
Do you mend what is broken? Do you treasure the energy of the repaired thing?"

oil and women

“ Women have made less progress toward gender equality in the Middle East than in any other

region. Many observers claim this is due to the region’s Islamic traditions. I suggest that oil,

not Islam, is at fault; and that oil production also explains why women lag behind in many

other countries. Oil production reduces the number of women in the labour force, which in turn reduces

their political influence. As a result, oil-producing states are left with atypically strong patriarchal norms,

laws, and political institutions. I support this argument with global data on oil production, female work

patterns, and female political representation, and by comparing oil-rich Algeria to oil-poor Morocco

and Tunisia. This argument has implications for the study of the Middle East, Islamic culture, and the

resource curse”.

listing my thoughts

Oh hai, blog, hii!

Excuse my absence

I just don't have enough downtime on the 'puty to make the blog worth anyone's while at the moment, and for that I do apologize. For a while I guess this will more than ever only function as a virtual scrapbook.

I very much appreciate your visit! And will try to post something with a slight hint of substance soon - swear.

For now, a fantastic hardware arm - gimmegimme - how I wish for a vintage watch.

Berlin notes:
-Cookies and cream is the best restaurant I have tried in a very long time
-Kimchi Princess on Wienerstrasse was not far behind - try the spicy casserole with silky tofu and sea food
-Next time I have the choice I'd like to stay on Wienerstrasse or elsewhere very near Schlesischer Tor - blossoming!

I love this internship!
yet another exhilarating day - despite stress and turmoil.

Never in my life have I tried being so stressed out that I lost my appetite, nevertheless having a brilliant time feeling almost jittery and exalted.

Wonder if it'll last or if it's just the novelty of it all - don't think so, actually! I feel pretty certain this is all just plain great for me.

A propos nothing - if anyone would like to patent something and become filthy rich, here's a hot tip: muted-sounding coffee cups for meetings! I don't know, perhaps some sort of rubber covered bottom-thing or something or other. Clever, no? Okay, maybe this is not hitherto unthought of but the concept hasn't reached Denmark, thaaats for sure

master of disaster

profundo

This caught my ear - and eye.
Aside from her unearthly prettiness, Vandana's music has a strange appeal to me.

Despite her singing being sporadically horribly out of tune and the track
disharmonic and somewhat annoying.

like time, it treats us all the same

Marie Aktor
Marie Aktor
Spot on, Lewis!
Søren K. Villemoes
Søren K. Villemoes
@ ane
Du kalder dem f.eks. for 'ubehagelige mennesker'.
Lewis Preston Colston
Lewis Preston Colston
